I'm still mostly keeping up with my Scene A Week project. I fell a day behind but I'm all caught up now. They're nice little exercises just to be able to sit down and plunge in to writing without any need for sense of direction.

The book on writing that I've been self indulgently writing has come together in the form of a first draft. I've gotten some positive feedback on it and there's quite a bit of editing left to do and then figure out if I'm happy with it at that point. The end goal is to put this all together in a decently formatted PDF for ease of availability to anyone. I think I'll be sticking with OpenOffice for that since I'll be able to be much pickier with the formatting that I would with Celtx.

One week until auditions. More info here.

Once I'm done working on the book, which I'm calling The First Draft Done for reasons obvious by the content, I'm going to go back and doing a quick edit on Sid. I've had enough time away from the material that I should be able to go back to it fresh.

Oh, and the Celtx crew sent me some cool shit for entering their Against Malaria competition. A very sweet Celtx jacket, a 1GB usb drive, and some sweet stickers. Apparently I was in the short list for the top prize. Meh, I entered to pad the numbers a bit and fill it out some. I also won one of their regular forum short script competitions with New Face of Security. Nothing actually comes from that other than good feedback from peers which is actually preferred right now.
