Lots of little things going on. Started a podcast. I feel dirty just saying the word. Screenwriting in Linux is a very under served market so I dove headlong in to it regardless of whether I'm actually qualified to be talking to anyone about it. I started a new site for it. Since I don't know how long this will go on for I opted to have Blogger host the basic site and have the Internet Archive host the audio files. If you're terribly bored or just masochistic you can find swilcast at swilcast.blogspot.com I'm working on rewriting/editing Sid for Praxis. I should have a new draft ready in the next week or so. I've already got a list of people interested in reading through it. If you'd like to be on that list shoot me an email. Click my name at the bottom of any post. I've got a very quick short, under 2 minutes, that I'm really interested in doing. I'm still scouting locations trying to find the right location. I think I've got it now I just need my cast. It's two primary actors with as many extras as I can find. Yes, it's zombie but more it's dark comedy. Actually getting in to production on this is being pushed off a bit. I've, for the most part, been ready to jump right in. With my wife ready to go in to labour I've avoided getting too deep in to anything. I'd really hate to be on location, have 20 people who have come out to support the shoot, and then bail part way through. Probably better if I just wait for my little girl to be born. Ed Video Media Arts Centre in Guelph has a free movie making program geared towards beginners. I may be quite deep in the writing side but the production and technical side I definitely need quite a bit of work on. Interruptions for the forthcoming child aside this is pretty likely on my plate for the immediate future. david shute - May 22, 2009 at 1:29 AM |
